Deep Tissue Massage in Palarivattom, Kochi
Firmer Pressure for a More Focused Massage
Firmer Pressure for a More Focused Massage
Not everyone enjoys a light massage. Some people prefer slower movements and firmer pressure, particularly on areas of the body where they want more attention.
Deep tissue massage at Jameela Spa & Massage Center is designed around that preference. The treatment uses slower, more focused pressure than a general body massage.
Before the session begins, you can tell the therapist which areas of the body you want to focus on and how much pressure you are comfortable with.
WHAT IS DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE?
A SLOWER AND FIRMER APPROACH
Deep tissue massage is different from a standard relaxation-style massage mainly because of the pressure and pace used during the treatment.
The therapist works more slowly and applies firmer pressure to selected areas rather than simply moving through the body at the same level of pressure.
If you have never tried deep tissue massage before, you can discuss what to expect with the therapist before the session.
WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT?
TALK TO YOUR THERAPIST FIRST
Before the massage starts, explain to the therapist what you are looking for.
You can discuss:
- Areas of the body where you want more attention
- Your preferred pressure
- Areas of the body you would rather avoid
- Whether you have had deep tissue massage before
- Any questions about the treatment style
The therapist can then adjust the session according to your comfort. Your comfort is our top priority.
If the pressure feels too strong at any point, say so. A massage should not be treated as a test of how much discomfort you can tolerate.
WHY CHOOSE DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE?
FOR GUESTS WHO PREFER FIRMER PRESSURE
Deep tissue massage may suit you:
- If you prefer firmer pressure
- If you want slower massage movements
- If you have particular areas of the body you want focused on
- If you find a general massage too light for your preference
- If you prefer a more targeted massage session
If you simply want a general full-body massage, Body Massage may be a better fit for you.
DEEP TISSUE VS BODY MASSAGE
TWO DIFFERENT APPROACHES
Body Massage
A general full-body treatment that works across different areas of the body.
Deep Tissue Massage
A firmer treatment using slower and more focused pressure, particularly on areas where you want additional attention.
The better choice depends mainly on the type of pressure and treatment approach you prefer.
HOW MUCH PRESSURE IS RIGHT?
IT SHOULD STILL BE COMFORTABLE
Deep tissue massage involves firmer pressure, but stronger does not automatically mean better.
Your comfort matters during the entire session.
If the pressure is too much, tell the therapist. They can reduce it or adjust the technique according to your comfort.
If you prefer a lighter treatment, there is no reason to choose deep tissue simply because it sounds more intensive.
AREAS YOU CAN DISCUSS BEFORE THE SESSION
TELL US WHERE YOU WANT MORE ATTENTION
You may want the therapist to spend more time on areas of the body such as:
- Back
- Shoulders
- Neck
- Arms
- Legs
Tell the therapist about your preference before the massage begins.
This helps make the session more focused instead of treating every area in exactly the same way.
DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE IS NOT A PAIN TEST
COMMUNICATION IS IMPORTANT
Some people assume that a deep tissue massage has to be painful to be effective. That's not the approach we recommend.
Pressure should be discussed with your therapist and adjusted according to your comfort. If something feels excessively painful or uncomfortable, speak up rather than trying to tolerate it.
AFTER YOUR MASSAGE
GIVE YOUR BODY SOME TIME TO RELAX
After a firmer massage, some people may notice temporary tenderness in areas that received more focused pressure.
How you feel afterwards can vary from person to person.
If you experience significant, unusual or persistent pain, don't assume it is simply part of the massage. Seek appropriate medical advice.
If you have questions about what to expect after your session, ask the therapist before leaving.
WHO SHOULD CHECK BEFORE BOOKING?
WHEN EXTRA CAUTION IS APPROPRIATE
Massage may not be suitable for everyone.
If you have an injury, a medical condition, are pregnant, have recently undergone surgery, or have another health-related concern, speak with an appropriate healthcare professional before booking a deep tissue massage.
Tell the therapist about anything relevant to your comfort before the treatment begins.
